Making a Difference through Stewardship
By Robert McCullar
The opportunity to make a difference is such a core piece of what Epiphany offers and inspires. Whether you give your time by serving on a committee or teaching Sunday School, your abilities by arranging flowers or singing in the choir, or your possessions by donating something to the jumble sale or making a pledge, there are so many opportunities to make a difference and thereby be a Steward of that which God has entrusted to each of us.
When Sybil and I joined Epiphany 10 years ago, having that opportunity was one of the key factors in our decision. I remember visiting with Benno before we joined and him asking what our interests were and how do we want to be involved. Before I knew it, Lisa Daily called to see if I wanted to join the Building & Grounds committee. Of course, once you say “yes,” more doors open inviting and challenging you to make a difference in ways you hadn’t considered before. That’s what’s so inspirational to me about this community and our God!
As you consider Stewardship this year, I hope that you’ll consider stepping outside your comfort zone and giving in ways that challenge and excite you. You are invited…
